The Rooster Roundup is a fundraiser for Team Buche Cares with the goal of addressing food insecurity and increasing access to fruits and vegetables among tribal and rural populations. Buche Foods stores serve a large amount of South Dakota’s rural population in Roberts, Lyman, Jackson, Oglala Lakota, Todd, Charles Mix, and Gregory counties. More importantly, they are proud to service all nine reservations in South Dakota which include the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Oglala Sioux Tribe, Yankton Sioux Tribe, Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, Lower Brule Tribe and Crow Creek Tribe.

Buche Foods accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and found that the overall average produce transaction is $8.69 at Buche Foods stores. The average SNAP produce transaction is $3.42, further proving that incentivizing healthy eating through produce purchases is needed. Better health starts with more nutritious foods for all ages and the need to narrow the gap of disparity to purchase those nutritious items is key to the success of our neighbors.

Team Buche Cares understands their ability to make an impact on hundreds of families and are motivated by the positive health outcomes this funding can provide to the communities where our team lives and works. 100% of proceeds raised go towards those in need.
